Ladakh Rigjung Public School provides an integrated course schedule of learning through exploration, scrutiny, and self-reflection. Science Department

Science cannot be done properly only in theory form, it is a practical subject. It is necessary to conduct various kinds of experimental works which are practical in nature. Without proper science laboratory in School, it is not possible to carry out science teaching process effectively, students learn to handle various apparatus and to think independently in the laboratory. We have well equipped science laboratory in Physics, Chemistry and biology as per the recommendations of CBSE. 

Department of Mathematics

Mathematics is use in every aspect of our life. It is the only subject which is related to every subject, streams of education and vocational courses. So it is necessary on our part to make it more practical and useful. Mathematics becomes more interesting and understandable to students when we bring them in contact with real and concrete objects. In our mathematics laboratory we make our students to manipulate the real objects. We know the learning becomes more fruitful when we help them to make use of all three senses i.e. (see, hear, and do). Moreover Mathematics is not only study of real object or specifies ideas but conceptual percept and absolute ideas as well. We make students understand ideas or concepts by using different methods of teaching. 

Social Science Department

At Ladakh Rigjung Public school the students are taught in a wide array of Social science, such as history, economics, geography and political Science. It is our aim to connect each student to the given subject by theory as well as practice. This includes the use of text books and at the same time we encourage the students to express their own ideas. At Rigjung Public School we emphasis the importance of ‘Learning by teaching’ every student is given teaching practice by presenting a topic of the subject to the fellow students with guidance from the teacher. Our teaching methods focus on the students skill and their ability to innovative by applying own ideas; the students are instinctively questioning a subject and as a result, are growing into reflective and critical thinkers. Every semester students are given a project of relevant and present day content. This project is performed on the basis team work to encourage a vivid exchange of different opinions and to benefit from a communal achievement. The final presentation takes place in front of all the other students in the middle of the semester. 

English Department

We tried to provide them a platform to improve their confidence, speaking, listening and reading by organizing stage drama, debate, speech, elocution etc. An effort has been also made to improve their reading habit by organizing a speech prize for the one who reads more stories and novels. At Rigjung we are also having an essay competition to raise the level of their comprehensive, fluency and their thinking skills by providing an independent topic on basis of the student’s interest. Over all an aims and objectives are to given them these kinds of task to raise their standards of literary appreciation and interaction. 

Bhoti Department

The Bhoti script plays a crucial role to the understanding of the student’s roots and cultural heritage. It is our priority to create a bridge between the students and the history of their language by focusing our teaching strongly on the ability read and write the Bhoti script, we are educating our students to become capable of exploring them very own cultural heritage through its authentic script. In Bhoti, the students are not only learning the history of kings but they also present drama on king in front of the students. The Students also learn about Buddhism and its philosophy and the students are encouraged to show the wheel of life and Mandala. After learning about and getting know the wheel of life, the students then explain it to their fellow students as a result the students are becoming more knowledgeable in Buddhism and they will lead a meaningful life through proper studies of the Bhoti Languages /Script. 

Dispensary

“Health is wealth” we give importance for the health of the students. Our School dispensary was founded by Ecole-danslecel. The School dispensary has 3 beds, unwell students and sick students are treated by our trained nurse who is available at our school, and emergence car is also available when in need. 

Physical Education

Co- Curricular Activities

Co curricular activities are essential part of curriculum in every school. Our school also organized intramural competition on every Saturday as part of co curricular activities in which different types of games and sports like Football, volleyball; Handball, Kho-Kho, basketball etc are played. These competitions are held amongst two categories i.e. between senior boys/ girls and junior boys/girls. The students complete on behalf of their respected houses that are Geysar House, Dhema House, Utpaal House and Youtok House. We have enough playground area for playing all types of games. Our students also participate in extramural competition that held on district level and they performed an excellent team work. 

Co- Curricular Activities

Health is human biggest asset. Human cannot progress or prosper good health until they pay very good attention towards their health. The health can be improved through various physical activities. In the modern age human life is full of Physical and mental stress, which can be overcome or reduced by doing physical exercise. Games and sports are meant for the optimum development of an individual’s personality. It rewards with perfect health and helps to create a healthy environment in the society. It is always said that” Health is Wealth”. Human can work soundly if he/she is fit physically and mentally. In order to have a sound growth of the body the physical education plays a role to have overall development on one’s personality. It gives us the right directions with so much of expert advises and many do’s and don’ts information to the starters. Health body Healthy mind makes a human perfect.
