Ladakh Rigjung Public School was founded in 1995 in Choglamsar, Leh-Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the North of India with its borders to China. Ladakh has one of the highest inhabited areas in the world with an altitude between 2.900 and 5.900 meter. In this area the winters are extremely cold and the place is normally cut off for four to five months in the year due to ice and snowfall. 

Due to being an educationally backward area Lama Chonet Dorjey, the president of His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa Welfare Society, decided to found the Ladakh Rigjung Public School in 1995 to give education to the new generation of this area. In 2008 the school got registered under the C. B. S. E. recognition. Since 1995 until today the school is running successfully.

The nomads from Changthang, Zanskar and Nubra are sending their children to Ladakh Rigjung Public School to acquire a quality education. Ladakh Rigjung Public School with all teachers and staff members are rendering their helping hands to fulfil their ardent desire by providing them quality of education for their wards. Students can study from the pre-nursery until the 10th grade standard. After that they can join various schools either in Leh- Ladakh or outside Ladakh region.

Our school has on its rolls well qualified teachers including Urdu subject. Moreover, we have been developing an effective as well as play way methods to impart quality in education especially for the infants section, in order to make pace setter in the field of school education.

Beside that our school has a well equipped library to encourage the students to develop and cultivate their reading skills and supplement their classroom learning.

The school has a Science Laboratory, Social Lab, Math Lab and etc. to provide a practical learning regarding these subjects.

In order to provide an exposure to the life outside and to appreciate the beauty of the nature our school is organising excursions and educational tours every year under the guidance of the teachers. 

Our school has resident facilities for those students who come from backward areas. Beside that we are providing free education as well as hostel facilities for the orphans and semi- orphans too.
